College Scholarships for Class of 2026

High school seniors connected to MassMutual Federal Credit Union can apply for one of eight Pioneer Valley Chapter scholarships. Submit your completed application packet to MMFCU by February 28th, 2026.

Investing in our young members’ futures

The Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union Association will award eight (8) scholarships of $2,000 each this year. Eligibility is open to high school seniors enrolling in college for the 2026-2027 academic year, provided they are members of MassMutual Federal Credit Union or if their parents (or guardians) are members of MassMutual Federal Credit Union.

What to submit to MMFCU by February 28th, 2026:

  • Completed application form.
  • Official high school transcript (including mid-year/first-semester senior grades).
  • SAT/ACT scores (from transcript or test agency).
  • List of extracurricular activities and community service.
  • Typed essay (<= 500 words):
    • “How can technology improve financial services for young people while maintaining the personal relationships that credit unions value?”

Additionally, MassMutual Federal Credit Union will award three internal $2,000 scholarships, including the Kerry Hurley Memorial Scholarship, which honors former board chairman and longtime MassMutual employee Kerry Hurley. Kerry’s dedication, leadership and unwavering commitment to our members left a lasting impact on the credit union community. This memorial scholarship celebrates his legacy and the values he championed.

How the process works:

  • Submit your complete packet to MassMutual Federal Credit Union in person, by mail or at [email protected]. Submissions must be clearly marked scholarship submissions in the subject line.
  • A scholarship committee at MMFCU will review submissions and forward our top candidates to the Chapter Scholarship Committee.
  • The scholarship committee will award an additional three scholarships internally.
  • Winners are evaluated on academics, activities and essay quality.
  • Winners are expected to be announced in April.
